Ron Paul Comes In Second In Nevada

My husband came into the kitchen tonight and said "Ron Paul just came in third in Nevada." I thought that was pretty cool. And I was really excited to hear that. It was good news as far as I was concerned. Then, later when I went online, I went to Dr. Paul's official website for his campaign. There, I learned that Ron Paul had actually came in 2nd place! This gives me hope.

Until recently, I was in full support of Barack Obama. As a Christian Democrat, I was happy to see a Democratic candidate profess his Christianity. I got caught up in the "Obama is my homeboy" craze. And didn't really investigate the real issues. Then, when I started looking into what his beliefs were; I realized that he was not inline with the same biblical principles that I am.

Barack Obama, is pro-choice and for globalization. I have a hard time understanding how someone can proclaim Christianity, and at the same time be pro-choice. Also, the Bible is very clear about the role of a One World Government and the anti-christ. As I did more research, I realized that Obama does not support or care about the same things I do, as a Christian. So, I went looking for a candidate that did.

I discovered Ron Paul. I normally do not support Republicans. In my opinion, they always seem to be for big government, big corporations, special interests and against helping the poor, against keeping our environment clean and against our freedom. But, Ron Paul is different. He is not our Father's kind of Republican. He is our Founding Father's kind of Republican! I like that in a man.

Ron Paul:
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

I am so excited to see that he came in 2nd in Nevada. But, I will be happier to see the other remaining states get in tune with what we need here in America. We need a president that is for the people, upholds the constitution and believes that we the people, can handle our own affairs without the government interfering.
